RACE COURSE

This is great off–road running experience. The course is beautiful and offers something for every runner truly wishing to ´ditch the city´. Nestled in the woods of Northeast Ga lies a true gem. The well groomed system of trails and beautiful scenery will leave you breathless (if that doesn´t, the 6.5 or 3.3 will). Once you descend into the woods, you will forget you´re in the city. As a matter of fact, you will come to know why we follow the creed ´Ditch the City´.

6.5 Mile Race Route will start on the Pond Trail (asphalt) in front of the Fence Road pavillion area (closer to the parking lot), run past the packet-pickup pavilion (on your left) heading counter-clockwise along the West Meadow Trail. At the juncture of the East and West Meadow Trails (approximately 0.25 miles), the race route bears right onto the cross-country trail inside the East Meadow Trail loop (a broad, groomed, grassy trail with minimal rocks and exposed dirt). After only about 70 yards, the cross-county trail splits. The race route will bear left at .3 miles headed uphill for a short distance then leveling off and turning left at .45 miles. At .50 the race route crosses over the asphalt trail headed back down hill and turning hard right at .55. At .85 turn hard left and working your way downhill. Stay Straight at 1.45 miles and then hard left (onto the asphalt carriage trail for about 15 yards crossing over a small wooden bridge then immediately hard right off the carriage trail back onto the dirt horsetrail. At this point you will start working your way back and forth uphill... at 2.30 miles stay straight on horse trail and again at 2.75 miles stay straight on the horse trail. You will begin working your way back downhill and at 3.2 miles stay to the right and at 3.5 miles the race route crosses over the asphalt carriage trail. At 3.75 miles turn hard left onto the "shortcut" horsetrail. At 4.05 miles turn hard right headed uphill. At 4.15 you will cross over the asphalt trail and enter the East Mulberry Trail (grass trails). At 4.25 miles turn hard left and at 4.6 miles stay straight across the asphalt trail. At mile 5.0 cross over the asphalt trail and then at 5.05 bear left up a small hill to mile 5.10 where the dirt trail intersects the asphalt trail (headed uphill and staying straight as the West Meadow Trail will be on your left). Stay on the asphalt trail until 5.3 miles then turn hard left onto the West Meadow Trail (grass)... then immediately hard left again headed downhill to the mile 5.5 hairpin turn (right) back uphill to mile 5.7 and take a hard left. Stay on the West Meadow Trail until 6.05 miles and turn hard left onto the asphalt and towards the downhill finish behind the pavillion at 6.5 miles.

3.3 Mile Race Route will start on the Pond Trail (asphalt) in front of the Fence Road pavillion area (closer to the parking lot), run past the packet-pickup pavilion (on your left) heading counter-clockwise along the West Meadow Trail. At 1.05 miles turn hard left and at 1.4 miles stay straight across the asphalt trail. At mile 1.80 cross over the asphalt trail and then at mile 1.85 bear left up a small hill to mile 1.9 where the dirt trail connects to the asphalt trail (headed uphill and staying straight as the West Meadow Trail will be on your left). Stay on the asphalt trail until 2.10 miles then turn hard left onto the West Meadow Trail (grass)... then immediately hard left again headed downhill to mile 2.3 hairpin turn (right) back uphill to mile 2.5 and take a hard left. Stay on the West Meadow Trail until 2.85 miles and turn hard left onto the asphalt and towards the downhill finish behind the pavillion at 3.3 miles.
