DIRECTIONS TO THE PARK

We´re excited to present the 1st Annual XTERRA North Carolina 5 Mi ⁄ 10 Mi Trail Race at Fisher Farms.

From I–77 N go to Exit 30⁄Davidson, turn right.  Go to second light and turn right⁄Main Street.  At next light, turn left⁄Davidson Concord Road.  Go about 3⁄4 mile and make a left on Grey Road.  Follow Grey Road and it turns into Shearer´s Rd.  Follow Shearer´s for another mile or so.  Turn right at Fisher Rd.  Follow gravel driveway to barns.From I–85 take Exit 52, go west on Poplar Tent Road (1.0 miles), take the 3rd right onto Odell School Road (go 6.6 miles), turn left at Sudbury Rd. (go 0.7 miles), turn left at Davidson Road (go 1.0 miles), continue onto E Rocky River Road (go 0.3 miles), turn right at Shearer Road (go 1.7 miles), Fisher Farm Park will be on the left. Turn into the gravel drive and drive all the way to the back trailhead. If you are going to park along the gravel road please pull completely off the side of the gravel road (road is somewhat narrow).

PACKET PICKUP

Packet pickup will be the morning of the race starting at 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. Race starts at 8:30 a.m. SHARP!

RACE COURSE

This is great single and double track off-road running experience. Fisher Farms Park is going to set up to be a great venue for the series finale! If you haven´t had an opportunity to run or bike out there – get out and do it! This is a hidden gem! You are gonna love these trails! The race will start on the gravel road (required for spacing) but will soon lead into the woods. The race will be run in a clockwise direction (going to the left at the trailhead). We will follow the Green Sections of the trail (beginner mountain bike route) and the Blue Sections of the trail (intermediate mountain bike route). We will not do the Black Diamond Sections of the trail. The terrain is made up of a little bit of everything, rolling hills, single track, double track, roots, along with some technical sections (tight and twisty trail). The course is beautiful and offers something for every runner truly wishing to ´ditch the city´.

RACE CATEGORIES

Dirty Spokes will be handing out medals and prizes to our overall top 3 male and female finishers for each race. We will also be handing out medals to our top 3 male and female finishers in each age group (14&U, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70&U) – you must be present to receive your medal we will not mail them to you.

AWARDS

Awards will be given out when we have enough finishers in to fill the categories. Medals will be given out to the top three finishers in each category. Walkers are encouraged to participate; however, you should be able to complete the 5⁄10 miles at a 16 minute mile pace or under to receive an official time.

Running retailer "Run For Your Life" will be at the XTERRA Trail Run at Fisher Farm Park in Davidson on Sept 5th, 2010. They will have Trail Running Shoes as well as socks and other running accessories; all for you to try one or purchase. Items will be on sale for participants of the trail run. Come by Run For Your Life – University anytime on Saturday Sept 4th as we celebrate trail running with in store specials, visit with Montrail sales reps, and enter drawings for giveaways that will be awarded at Sunday´s event.
